Toddler Terrors

Blaise Benevolent has not taken well to being separated from his parents, Bruce and Lucy.

“I’ve woken up the last two nights to find Blaise at the foot of my bed,” big sister Brooklyn tells us. “He’s had nightmares non-stop since the explosion in Riverview and is crying for Mom and Dad.”

“It’s heartbreaking,” oldest sister Bella adds. “We have to put on a brave face, but we really have no idea if we will ever see our parents again.”

Upon arriving in Riverview, both Bella and Brooklyn have tried to temporarily fill the role of caregiver.

“Bridget seems to be ok with everything, Bella continues. “She spends a lot of time outside playing and has had no trouble sleeping.”

“So, we’re giving Blaise a little bit of extra love, a little bit of extra make-believe playtime,” Brooklyn adds. “Just trying to create a sense of normalcy for him, until we can figure out our next move.

It turns out, they may have to figure out their next move quickly. New neighbor and former Riverview acquaintance Nancy Landgraab turned up on their doorstep asking questions.

“Of course I recognized the Benevolent children and came over to speak with Bruce and Lucy to see how they were adjusting, “Nancy reveals. “Just being neighborly.”

“If Nancy finds out we’re alone, she’ll call Social Services!” Bella cries. “We told her our parents were at work.”

“I find it strange that Bruce and Lucy were out,” Nancy tells us. My son Malcolm has already started Copperdale High School, but hasn’t seen the girls there yet. I was going to inquire about their absence.”

Looks like Bella and Brooklyn will have to add attending a new high school to their list of responsibilities if they want to keep their secret under wraps.
