Luther Luminous had a typical childhood. One day he wanted to be a firefighter, the next a doctor. He had big dreams for himself as many kids do, but single-mom Lucy often worried that he was not as happy as kids his age. She also worried about the potential effects her serial relationships had on her young son.
As a teen, Luther excelled academically and earned the title of valedictorian of his high school class. Luther enrolled in Sims University to become a doctor and developed his first serious romance with Abby Allstar, whom he was first introduced to as a teen. However, Luther was tempted by newcomer Ellie Indy, and cheated on Abby. Before he could break up with Ellie and apologize to Abby, a meteor shower wiped out Riverview.
