The Day After

Edwin Straud and Bella Benevolent just landed in the world of Moonwood Mill and couldn’t be happier.

“It’s just as I remembered from a few weeks ago,” Bella stated with a happy sigh. “If this is where we have to be to escape Vlad, so be it!”

“I don’t get it,” Bella told Edwin. “Since Vlad always seems to know where we are, can’t he just find us here, too?”

“I’m sure he knows where we are,” Edwin responded. “But he won’t come here. He’s deathly afraid of werewolves. One in particular–Greg!”

“The Moonwood Mill Library is one of the best!” Edwin exclaimed enthusiastically. “The answer to learning about vampires lies inside. I can just feel it!”

“He’s right,” Bella adds. “As a future history major, I know that studying the past activities of vampires will tell us what we need to know about Vlad today.”

“Since I always saw the wicked side of Vlad’s vampirism, I’ve distanced myself from my own vampire identity. I”m ashamed to say I know very little about vampire history and even less about our culture.”

“Vampires were created when spellcasters tried to replicate themselves? Bella asked incredulously. “Mind blown!”

“I’m specifically looking for information about Greg. Why is an all-powerful vampire like Vlad so terrified of him?” Edwin asked. “Shouldn’t they be an even match for one another?”

After a few more hours of researching, the pair continued to explore Moonwood Mill.

“If I’m stranded in a world away from home, at least I’m with you,” Bella whispered to Edwin.

However, the warm feelings began to wear off when the two realized they had no idea what to do next.

“I realized that we had not eaten since last night and we still hadn’t found any shelter,” Bella tells us.

“I also started to miss home,” Bella adds. “Today was the day when my friends and I were all supposed to leave for our graduation trip to Selvadorada. How could I miss that?”

“I also regret not telling Mom and Dad goodbye. My cell service is sketchy and I don’t know how long we’re going to be here.”

“I meant it when I said I loved Edwin and would follow him anywhere, but did he have to blindside me like this? If he had told me about Vlad days ago, we could have come up with a better plan.”

“I could sense Bella’s mood swifting,” Edwin reveals. “I knew she was tired and I knew I needed to do something fast.

Before Edwin could come to the rescue, Bella made her bed in a bush.

“Who was I kidding? Edwin asked. “We had no food, no shelter, no anything. What’s worse is that I was thirsty and there was no plasma fruit in sight.”

Fortunately, their luck changed when they came across Moonwood Collective pack leader Kristopher Volkov.

“I already knew Kristopher from my first trip to Moonwood Mill, so I was pretty comfortable explaining our dire situation,” Bella tells us.

“I know that vampires and werewolves have a horrible history, but I mean no harm,” Edwin pleaded to Kristopher.

“Vampires and any other type of Sim are welcome in our community,” Kristopher told the pair. “Come home with me and I’ll give you food and a bed for as long as you need.”

“The first thing I did was plant some plasma fruit seeds,” Edwin states. “Thankfully, I had a few in my inventory.”

Lily was kind enough to give Edwin and I the guest house to sleep in,” Bella adds.

“And of course there’s only room enough for one double bed. After what I just put Bella through, I doubt she wants to share it with me,” Edwin laughed.

“Now we just have to find out Vlad’s weaknesses,” Edwin says. “Lucky for us, Kristopher and Lily just might have some knowledge about the past which will help us now.”

Are Edwin and Bella safe in Moonwood Mill? How can Kristopher and Lily help them find answers? Will Bella regret leaving home with Edwin while her life goes on without her?
